Should prospective students be concerned about the impact of wildfires and mudslides happening around UC Santa Barbara?

I am deeply sorry for the delayed response. I did not realize that there was a question box on my profile. Here is the answer to your question:

As of today, we are not concerned with any mudslides on or near the campus. UC Santa Barbara is located in the city of Goleta, about 20 miles north of the affected area. In the mudslide area there are extensive CalFire and structural engineers which are working on clean up and the rebuilding process.
